What We Do

Letter Writing

From the very beginning of Amnesty International in 1961, people have written letters on behalf of victims of human rights abuses. Today, hundreds of thousands of ordinary people throughout the world challenge cruelty and injustice by taking a few minutes to write a letter.

The Cage

Every term, CUAI organises a Cage in order to highlight the case of a particular prisoner of conscience. The Cage is set up outside King’s College from 6pm on Friday to 6pm on Sunday. Anyone is very welcome to volunteer for a 2 hour shift, either on the stall or to sit in the Cage.

Events

Every term the Action Team and the Executive Committee organise events, talks and campaigns for human rights across the university. Past events have included fashion shows, speakers, Comedy Nights, Jamnesty, Campaign Protests & others.
